Industry Ties

StatOil has funded (through IRCCM) the first two years of my professorship at Jacobs University and have continued to support us over the years with numerous projects. Schlumberger, at various levels, has provided strong support to Jacobs University and my group over the past 10 years. Links to other German oil companies such as Wintershall and RWE-DEA also exist.

Teaching and Transfer

Designing, developing and managing educational programs is one of my interests. I am currently the academic co-ordinator for the Basin and Petroleum System Dynamics Executive MSc program, academic council member for the Earth System Science Research School (ESSRES) and teach GIS, marine geology, applied geophysics, sedimentology and structural geology in the Earth and Space Science and Integrated Environmental Science undergraduate programs at Jacobs University. Currently I am in the process of setting up a joint Leeds – Jacobs University MSc degree program in Petroleum Exploration.
